Two Years to 29 Months

Someone's been slack, but it's been a busy Summer.  Rick went off to business school had surgery to deal with a non-cancerous cancer and also started a new job!  In the meantime, Mason's been super fun to be around and every day brings us something new.

In May, Mason's a huge watermelon fan and he can eat a whole one on his own!  Daddy and Mason took a ride on the Tarantula, Grapevine's vintage railroad.  While Daddy was off at school, Nana, Auntie Tatiana and Cousin Cooper came to visit.

June's a bit of a blur.  Mason likes to ride the Southlake Bulls; Daddy and Mason pose with the bull sponsored by Executive Medicine of Southlake, the doctors who found the tumor hopefully before it created a huge mess.  Mason loves his Jell-o and allows Nana to keep a tight rein on him.

In July, Mason helps Pap assemble a Mason-sized bench; sleeps in with Mommy; loves to swing; flirts and reads with Hailey.

Here Mommy herniates her disc, but we'll talk about that later.  We ended July with a trip to Washington.  Mason is a good boy and reads the safety briefing card; We went to the Air and Space Museum and there aren't that many good pictures because Mason kept pointing and yelling "plane! plane!"  He gives the Concorde a big thumbs up and starts to calm down after the second day.

And then we're in August.  It finally warmed up after weeks and weeks of rain and Mason hit the pool a couple of times a day.  In fact, that's about all we did -- Leesa had back surgery in the middle of the month and that appears to have fixed the herniated disc.  Hailey came to visit and while our backs were turned, she convinced Mason to get undressed and into the tub, which she proceeded to fill!  Daddy's abdominal scar healed enough to hang Mason upside down while Mommy was recuperating.  Mason's bored.

As we get into September, Granddad has come to visit; Mason gives Mommy flowers from the back yard; learns to clean the windows and brings out the coffee cart after several months.
